Local blooms since 2017.

Allow us to introduce ourselves.

It all started…

Hello! We are Alyssa & Matt. Transplants of almost 20 years here in the Quad Cities. In 2010 we planted our first garden. A small 20' square foot patch of tomatoes and peppers. A passion for growing our own food and creating edible landscaping soon took over our yard. What started as a passion for growing vegetables and creating edible landscaping morphed into a micro, urban flower farm.

From veggies to flowers…

And then we visited Miss Effie’s Country Flowers & Garden Stuff in Donahue, Iowa. She had the most beautiful flowers I’ve ever seen. Shimmering pink petals that transitioned to yellow in the center. Mesmerized, I asked what they were, and the answer changed our lives. Dahlias.

All the flowers…

What started as a passion for growing vegetables and creating edible landscaping soon turned into a hobby gone wild. With each year, we added more and more dahlias until we had 200 plants with over 100 varieties. Not content to limit ourselves to dahlias, we started growing roses, delphinium, snapdragons, and the list goes on and on.

From hobby to business…

We soon realized we had more flowers than we could enjoy ourselves. Wanting to share the beauty with our community, we reached out to florists, did a small wedding, and started making bouquets for friends and family. Our dahlia tubers went to fellow flower farmers and local gardeners.

Where we are now…

After enjoying flowers as a side hustle for many years, we had the opportunity to transition to full-time in 2022. Offering weekly bouquets at the QC Farmers’ Market in Rock Island, porch bouquets, and, and more when Iowa flowers are in season.

Future dreams…

Each year, we continue to streamline our operations and search for opportunities to share our passion of growing local and sustainable flowers with our community here in the Quad Cities. Our hope is that you think of local flower farmers first for all of your floral needs.
